Slow day carping in the sun

With thunderstorms in the forecast, I headed out for some carping with a new friend who had never tried it before. Of course the forecast was completely off again, as soon as we crossed the Ontario border, the skies were bright and sunny and remained that way all day. Needless to say, the carp weren’t biting much at all, we saw a few sporadic jumps throughout the day. We came close to getting skunked, luckily my new friend hooked into his first carp about ½ before we had to leave, he was quite happy to bring it in. It was about average sized for this time of the year, probably 9-10 lbs.
